Purpose of award: To reward creative young people in the U.S.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be in grades 7 through 12 in U.S. or Canadian schools and must submit writing pieces or portfolios in one of the following categories: dramatic script, humor, journalism, novel writing, personal essay/memoir, poetry, science fiction/fantasy, short story, short short story or general writing portfolio.
Target applicant: High school students
Minimum GPA: None
Amount: $100-$5,000.
Number of awards: 300 awards, 8 scholarships.
Deadline: Varies based on location.
