Purpose of award: To assist high achievers in math and science in obtaining a degree in a qualified math or science program.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be Washington students who achieve a level 4 on the math or science section of the tenth grade WASL or score above the 95th percentile in math on the SAT or ACT and come from a family with income at or below 125 percent of the state's median family income for two years prior to application. They must begin college within one year of high school graduation, make satisfactory academic progress and enter in a qualifying math or science program by the end of the first term of their junior year. They must also make a commitment to work in a qualifying math or science occupation within the state for at least three years.
