Purpose of award: To recognize high school seniors in the Chicago area who have overcome considerable obstacles to succeed in high school and attend college.
Eligibility requirements: One award is presented to one senior from each Chicago high school graduating class. Applicants must be nominated by their high school and be Chicago residents or attend a Chicago high school and have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicants' financial need is also a consideration.

Amount: $1,000.
