Purpose of award: The Organization of American Historians promotes the teaching and learning of history.
Eligibility requirements: The History and Life Award grants money to an author of a published journal article that meets the organization's mission. Judges look for articles that suggest and explore new interpretations ofhistorica1 events, places or people. The winning entry is presented at the OAH annual meeting. Both editors and authors may submit entries. This is a biennial award.
