Purpose of award: To encourage students to enter the transit field.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate institution, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be employed by or demonstrate' an interest in entering the public transportation industry and be nominated by a member organization of American Public Transportation Association (APT A) with which recipients must participate in an internship. Selection is based on this, as well as academic achievement, essay, financial need and extracurricular and leadership activities. There is also a $500 award for the best application essay.

Minimum GPA: 3
Amount: At least $2,500.
Number of awards: 7. Scholarship may be renewable.
Deadline: June 16.
