Purpose of award: To promote excellence in education and in continuing education programs for African American nurses and allied health professionals.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be African Americans currently enrolled in a nursing program and be in good academic standing, be members of the NBNA, be members of a local chapter and have at least a full year of school remaining. Applicants must submit with their application an essay, references, an official transcript and evidence of participation in student nurse activities and involvement in the African American Community.

Amount: $500-$2,000.
