Description
This scholarship is designed for seniors in high school who are interested in entering the companion (pet) animal industry. The companion animal industry is one of the fastest growing animal fields in the world. There are opportunities in animal health, nutrition, marketing, publishing, and manufacturing. If you have a strong interest in small and exotic animals this scholarship is for you. Applicants must be attending a college or university in the upcoming fall. Applicants must be majoring in animal science, food science, pre-veterinary medicine or other facet of the small and companion animal industry. A current GPA must be provided.
Also, a current resume showing activities and job history and 2 letters of reference must be included. A 300-500 word essay on one of the following topics must also be submitted with your application:
• Why are you interested in companion animals (pets)?
• What do you see as your future with companion animals (pets)?
• Write about an experience with companion animals (pets).
Also include any information that you feel would be pertinent to this scholarship.
