Description
We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for PhD studies in medical systems biology, particularly cancer systems biology. In this cross-disciplinary project, conducted in Sven Nelander’s lab, our goal is to map and understand how brain tumor-derived stem cells respond to rationally designed drug combinations. To achieve this, we combine mathematical models of drug response of cancer pathways, with cell experiments in a panel of cancer-derived stem cells, conducted at the SciLifeLab facilities.
Eligibility
Highly motivated candidates with a Masters degree in the fields of biotechnology, medicine, pharmacology, biology or biomedicine. We are equally interested in applications from biologically oriented candidates with a Masters degree in a technical or theoretical subject, e.g. physics, engineering, mathematics or computer science. Previous experience in experimental or computational bioscience is considered a merit, as well as experience in cell culture, screening and/or computer programming.
Application Procedure
Please submit the following documents a curriculum vitae, copies of exams, degrees and grades, references and a short description of the applicant and his/her experience. Letters(s) of recommendation may be included. If the applicant has published scientific papers, they can also be included.
Submission Deadline
30 April 2012
