Description
The American Galvanizers Association's "Galvanize the Future Scholarship" essay contest is available to full- or part-time, undergraduate or graduate students of any age enrolled at an accredited 4-year college or university in North America (United States, Canada, and Mexico). Students attending colleges or universities outside of North America are not eligible. High school students are not eligible to enter this contest. Applicants must have a declared major in the following majors by March 31st of the year the scholarship will be awarded: Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering. Essays should be at least 1000 words, but should not exceed 2000 words. Judges will evaluate submissions based on relevance, accuracy, conciseness, and ingenuity. Please submit your essays in English. Each essay will be read and ranked by reviewers at the AGA. Final awards will be determined by both the AGA's executive director and president.
All entries must be received on or before midnight (MST) on March 30 of each year.
Submit your essay by downloading the Microsoft Word electronic entry form on the AGA website. Fill out the form by typing in the fields. Save the form to your desktop, then attach and email along with your essay to scholarship@galvanizeit.org. Essays must be in Word, Word Perfect, Rich Text Format, or Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Please ensure your entry form and essay are sent together. You will receive an email confirmation that your entry has been received. No phone calls please.

One entry will be accepted per student.
Winners will be personally notified and announced on the AGA website in November. All submissions become the property of the American Galvanizers Association and will not be returned. Winning essays become the property of the American Galvanizers Association, which will, however, cooperate fully with the authors in the re-publication of essays.
